Gouda, city in the green heart of the Netherlands

Mediaeval town hall and weigh house market square Gouda. Visit the gothic City Hall dating from 1450 with its splendid marriage room, mayor’s office and council chamber (visits limited in connection with weddings and meetings). On the right-hand gable, you can see the carillon with the mechanical puppets, added in 1961. The main character in the puppet show is Floris V, who granted Gouda its city charter in 1272.
