I am an artist who uses the camera as a tool for reproducing the beauty I find in the world. From an early age I carried a camera to record my experiences, and to share them with others. My images have always focused on pure color, form, and texture with little regard for traditional photographic orientations. As a visual element I found and photographed the environment from a perspective that did not reference the original object, thereby abstracted the image to the point where the original scene was unrecognizable. My photographic career has always revolved around a process of recording images as my experience expanded. It is a continuous evolutionary process that has brought me to the floral images I am creating today. In my neighborhood in Portland, Oregon, I recently found several hibiscus petals lying on the sidewalk. I took these small pieces of nature into my studio and photographed them. Isolating these images from their natural environment allowed me to focus on detai

Peter Righteous: construction industry images
I am fortunate to have many opportunities to photograph a range of industries, so the Lakeview portfolio specialises in imagery of real people doing real jobs. My background in newspapers gave me a love of the decisive moment, so I prefer to capture the candid look and action of a person absorbed in his job, rather than somebody holding the spanner at just the right angle. It's more challenging to pull everything together - the light, composition and action - to tell the story.

Louis Rossam: Nature Stock Photo Photographer
I do photography with every opportunity I get, shooting diverse subjects that are challenging for me. Subjects vary from wildlife, horses, dogs, people, events, landscape etc. I try and capture the emotion or 'mood' and will chase photo opportunities to get that. I do basic editing to minimise effort on post production. My style is more 'natural', but will create opportunities to take 'great' photos (plan and setup photo shoot) where the subjects allow that. My greatest satisfaction is giving someone a great memorable photo which they are ecstatic about.

Bob Rouse: Personal Website
When I'm not in my studio doing floral photography, I enjoy traveling the back roads of East Tennessee and Western North Carolina. The Blue Ridge Parkway, Pisgah National Forest, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park are of special interest to me. Historic sites such as Roaring Fork, Cades Cove, and Oconaluftee are a serene detachment from the hurried pace of the highways. I enjoy those moments when the forest just closes in around you. Through my photography I try to preserve our American heritage and a unique, rustic lifestyle that is slowly fading away.

Peter Russell: Peter Russell Photography military stock photo mil
Originally all my stock was shot on colour transparency material, ranging from 35mm to 5x4inch, and covered both UK and foreign armed forces training and war-fighting and my own material was supported by specialist material from contributors around the world. From 1996 or so the library started to be scanned, using better scanners as the market developed. The advent of quality digital photography in around 2003 saw the change from film (although some clients required us to shoot film as late as 2007) to digital and the gentle move away from the big, competitive stock arena, to more general photography. Much of what is shot today has a defence theme to it although the market is, as you point out, dominated by the big players who now influence the majority of my former clients.
